Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Probably one of the most memorable scenes in the movie, Chef, this dish literally translates to "Spaghetti, Garlic and Oil" and that already makes half of this recipe!

Ingredients

  1. 1/2lbs Spaghetti Noodles
  2. 1/2 cup olive oil
  3. 5 cloves of garlic, sliced. More if you like
  4. 1/2 cup rinsed and chopped fresh parsley
  5. 1tbsp chilli flakes, optional
  6. 1/2 lemon

Instructions

  1. Heavily salt a large pot of water and bring to a boil, cook your noodles or pasta until it's slightly underdone.
  2. Heat up a large skillet with olive oil on medium heat and cook the sliced garlic stirring constanyl until they start to brown. This will make sure that the oil gets infused with that garlic flavor.
  3. Once your pasta is cooked, drain completely and immediately transfer to the pan with the garlic. Turning the heat to medium-low.
  4. At this point, add in your parsley and chilli flakes and stir everything constantly.
  5. If the pan is starting to dry at this point, you can use the pasta water to steam things up and this will ensure that every flavor will bind to your pasta.
  6.  Squeeze in the lemon juice all over and season with salt and pepper to taste
